BNSF 8834 & 9148 sit at the Burlington, Iowa depot in Feb 2010. This photo shows clearly how the orange color fades badly with time. It will not be long and 8834 will look like chalk and 9148 will look like 8834 does now. I like orange, but BNSF needs to start using better quality paint! 

The loading tracks at the Thunder Basin Coal Company's Black Thunder Mine near Wright, Wyoming. This Sunday afternoon 10 Nov 2003 shows only 2 trains being loaded at the same time, one on far left and a BNSF on the third track from left while a Union Pacific veers off to right to loop around on a staging track. Speed limit for all trains is about 2 MPH. 

Rock Island diesel lok 348 was restored by Larry Raid of Denmark, Iowa. He is building his own full scale train layout on his property. He currently has about 500 feet of track and several switches. Expensive hobby! Since I am in a wheelchair I had to watch as my friend learned how to drive this lok and a caboose over to the road. 
